Ian Turns One

 Happy birthday to our sweet baby Ian! You have always been our surprise baby and you had another surprise up your sleeve for today. You officially began to walk on your first birthday! It was like a light bulb went on in your head after we ate your birthday cake and you knew it was time to make it happen. Well played Ian, well played.

You took your first steps close to a month ago and then decided that you wanted nothing to do with it again until we came to Poppies. You practiced a little bit the couple days leading up to your birthday taking a few steps and then plopping down.

This picture is a celebration picture for the fact that we survived our first year of having two babies under tow. "Yay, we all survived!"

Here are your top 10 favorite things at the age of 1:

1. Playing peek-a-boo with the family...You like to just cover your head with your hands so you can still see us. :)
2. Anything or any toy that your brother is playing with...Oh, the drama when brother says "Mine, Iaa!"
3. Pulling mommy's hair or ear rings...Mommy would like you to find a new game to play when she is holding you.
4. Jumping up and down in the crib with brother...You and brother really get each other laughing in that thing.
5. Splashing water in the bath tub...It is hard for us to tell you guys to stop when you two are having so much fun.
6. You LOVE your bottle...I don't think transitioning you to a sippy cup will be easy.
7. Cords to any appliance that you shouldn't mess with or that is plugged into the wall
8. Copying your brother scream or laugh...Brother likes to copy you too so don't feel bad.
9. You like to put food in your mouth and then take it back out again to inspect it, and then put it back in your mouth. This will not be socially acceptable when you get older..just FYI.
10. Trying to do anything you possibly can to prevent Daddy and I from changing your diaper...Daddy and I often have to tag team changing your diaper or putting clothes on you.

In conclusion, we love you. Happy birthday my blue-eyed baby boy. I know you will keep surprising us.
